Duisburg, in the middle of the fifties - in this era of rebuilding, in the industrial center of post-war Germany, Oskar Noé and Willi Manthey founded the mechanical-engineering company BWG in 1955. Throughout its fifty year history, the company has acquired an excellent reputation world-wide as a supplier of lines and machines for the steel and aluminum industries. The supply program encompasses high-quality, innovative machinery and equipment for the metal processing industry. The medium-size of the company allows BWG to be an efficient partner to its international customers, capable of flexible reactions. BWG is headquartered in Duisburg, Germany, but being internationally orientated, it operates subsidiaries in France and Brazil, an independent company in Slovakia and in China and has representatives in many other countries. In order to offer its customers the full service of a turnkey supplier, BWG has in-house departments specialized in electricals, automation, hydraulics and assembly in addition to its highly experienced mechanical engineering departments. The department for R&D and process technology is also playing an ever more important roll. Here, specific base data are acquired and documented and transformation processes modeled. Also, the operation of the mechanical and electrical equipment of complete strip processing lines is analytically simulated. In celebration of its semi-centennial, BWG has edited an anniversary book providing interesting glimpses into the company’s early years as well as current activities and the supply program. |
